Objective: The course aims to provide students with factual data about the sources and outcomes of major political developments in international relations of 19th and 20th centuries and enable them to understand the roots of many contemporary issues, problems, institutions and the patterns of behaviour among states.
Content: Diplomatic History II covers major political events of 19th and 20th centuries. The course starts with a survey of Ottoman Diplomacy in the contex of Eastern Question. Such a start will provide the background to understand political evolution of the Balkans and the Middle East in an interaction with 'European state-system'.
